Exploring the relationship between words and how they effect us, you will be invited to write down and share some of your stories, record some media, and get involved in a few other activities highlighting the positive and negative consequences of the things we say.

Another living poet for our tribute this month!

Rupi Kaur is a writer and artist based inToronto, Canada. At the age of 5 she began to draw and paint – a hobby picked up from her mother. Being an immigrant from India, she was unable to speak in English with the other children at school. This naturally meant a lot more time alone. But once she picked up the language, books became her best friends.

Pop-up Slam #1 goes off!!

What a great start for the Pop Up Slam season at the fabulous Brick City Bar => excellent performances from seasoned crew and newbies alike + terrific audience / judges => top class vibe!! Congrats to winner Ashlee Spalding. And big cheers to Tahi Atea and Chanel Trezise who had a slam-off for second place, ultimately won by Tahi, especially good since it was Chanel’s first-ever go at a slam!!
