Sarah Pearce is our special April 2018 Adelaide City Library Poet-in-Residence with her residency, Women Write Together.

This project is about women writing together, collaborating, borrowing, even stealing… Ever heard it and wished you’d written it? Ever deeply connected your own experiences to those described by a poet, a poem or a single line? Let’s do it! Let’s be inspired by Tempest, Bird, Plath, Smith, Dickinson and Sappho. A massive night at The Little Red Door for the World Poetry Day Slam!

A full house and 17 outstanding poets performing their work supported by Sacrificial Poet and MC, Kami, and Guest Poet, Alison Bennett.

Congratulations to winner Taeghan Buggy, 2nd place Holly Konopka and very close 3rd, Aislinn Rossi.

Well done to everyone who braved the mic including a slew of fresh, new talent. We hope to see you all again!

World Poetry Day Slam, 21st March

Another ‘for the fun of it’ poetry slam from Spoken Word SA.

This time to celebrate World Poetry Day and introduce you all to a cool, ‘open to all’ venue, The Little Red Door, up the good end of Hindley Street.
