The 2023 SA State Final of the Australian Poetry Slam was top-shelf quality from start to finish. On Saturday September 30th, ten of South Australia’s finest performance poets will take it up a notch. The heats were hot, and the final will be fire! The audience at Goodwood Theatre will be treated to another round of fast-paced poetic prowess, with new poems from all of our finalists. What a fantastic final heat of the SA poetry Slam 2023! Congratulations to winner Cayley Ferguson and runner-up Carissa Fischer who are off to the SA State Final on 30th September. Great poetry from everyone, an inspirational set from guest Matcho Makata, tough new work from sacrifice Kami, drum rolls for MC Sarah Jane Justice, and a lively supportive audience. Feast Festival – City Library Poet-In-Residence applications now closed

Spoken Word SA, Adelaide City Library & Feast Festivals Poet-In-Residence program encourages poets to step out of comfort zones, engage the public, and create collaborative new work. Through free bespoke workshops curated by the Poet-In-Residence, the poet will connect with the community, enriching both residents and the city’s cultural life; leaving a lasting impact on Adelaide’s literary landscape.
