It is with great sadness that we share our final farewell to Alison Paradoxx (Bennett), who recently departed this physical world.
Alison appeared on the local spoken word scene, apparently ready-made, with her powerful, challenging performances. From libraries, nightclubs and theatres to the Sydney Opera House itself we were graced with the magnificent words she crafted and performed. She was 2016 SA state winner and national finalist of the Australian Poetry Slam. She then developed her work into a deeply emotional extended show for two Adelaide Fringe seasons: the incredible Floral Peroxide.
Alison and the inspirational strength of her work will be forever dearly missed. But she will live on in the memories and admiration of all of us who saw her perform and felt her unique combination of toughness, fragility and warmth.
