SA Poetry Slam

Sarah Jane Justice discovered spoken word poetry when she was asked for a lift to the Goolwa Poetry Cup in 2016. After deciding to enter on a whim, she was hooked into the genre by winning the People’s Choice award at that year’s competition. Since then, she went on to win the Goolwa Cup itself in 2017 and build her way up to being named S.A. State Champion in the Australian Poetry Slam in 2018. Start getting ready for the 2019 Australian Poetry Slam! Here are the SA dates and venues. More details for each event will be announced closer to the dates. Make sure you check out the rules! Some have changed from previous years. Most importantly, if you get to the finals, you must do a new poem different from the one you did in your heat (or the previous final, if you get that far).
