Poetry slams are electric live events where the audience is the judge. Poets have 2 minutes to speak, scream, howl, whisper or sing their original poem for a chance at state and national glory.

Our guest performer for the night is mic veteran and former finalist Sam ‘Habitz’ Frost.

It’s a 6.30 sign-up for contestants (20 only) – please read the rules. It will then kick-off at 7.00.

Summer Slam Heat 3 winners

Heat 3 of the Summer Slam was a win for everyone there, with the fabulous support of the crew at the Southwark Hotel. 

But top spot was won by Caroline Reid followed by runner-up Joel Callis.

Alison Bennett: Winner of the SA Poetry Slam 2016

Alison Bennett wins the SA Poetry Slam 2016, at the Goodwood Institute, SA.

From here Alison goes to compete at the national final for the 2016 Australian Poetry Slam in the Sydney Opera House.

Jason Marsiglia: Runner Up SA Poetry Slam 2016

Jason Marsiglia claims his place at the National Slam Finals in Sydney as runner up at SA Poetry Slam 2016, at the Goodwood Institute, SA.

SA Poetry Slam 2016 WINNERS!!

What a night! Sell-out crowd, 10 contestants on top of their games, special guest, Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa, who had the audience hooked from word #1.

And the winner is   Alison Bennett.        Runner-up is   Jason Marsiglia.

 

Both will be heading off to Sydney soon to compete in the National Finals at the Opera House. Big congrats to everyone concerned. Here are some highlights:
