Speak, scream, howl, whisper, rap or sing your original poem at the 2017 South Australian Summer Slam. You’ve got two minutes, no props, no music, just you and your words. SPOKEN WORD SA proudly brings you another amazing Dead Poets Society monthly event at Dymocks Adelaide, Rundle Mall Adelaide.

Thursday, 17th November, 2016, 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Local performer Sam Ghamrawi will present both his own material and that of our tribute poet Tupac Shakur.

FREE ENTRY.

A selection of poetic works from Tupac and Sam will be for sale.

There is an open mic, where you can read a poem by Tupac Shakur and one of your own that reflects his influence on you.

Alison Bennett wins the SA Poetry Slam 2016, at the Goodwood Institute, SA.

From here Alison goes to compete at the national final for the 2016 Australian Poetry Slam in the Sydney Opera House.

Jason Marsiglia claims his place at the National Slam Finals in Sydney as runner up at SA Poetry Slam 2016, at the Goodwood Institute, SA.

What a night! Sell-out crowd, 10 contestants on top of their games, special guest, Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa, who had the audience hooked from word #1.

And the winner is Alison Bennett. Runner-up is Jason Marsiglia.

Both will be heading off to Sydney soon to compete in the National Finals at the Opera House. Big congrats to everyone concerned. Here are some highlights:
