The search is on to find Australia’s best spoken word poet! Speak, sing, howl, whisper or sing your original poem at the South Australian heats of the Australian Poetry Slam, an electric live event where the audience is the judge.

Well that’s that! The inaugural Rumble SA Youth Slam program is over.  Congratulations to all our finalists and all our poets along the way.  Our very first Rumble SA Youth Slam winner is Audrey Mason-Hyde!  Runner-up was Divya Jacob and Jill Saji came in third.

RUMBLE SA Slam showcase events

 

The Rumble SA is a new youth poetry slam initiative from Spoken Word SA, the organisation behind the SA leg of the National Poetry Slam and its immensely popular (and much more informal) sister event, the Summer Slam. In conjunction with Arts South Australia, The Rumble SA aims to mentor young poets (aged 26 and under) by expanding their knowledge of and strengthening their skills in the art of spoken word performance and slam poetry.
