The SA State Final is officially sold out! We will see you all tonight for a showcase of great local talent!

The SA Final of the Australian Poetry Slam features the winner and runner-up of each of the 5 SA Heats:
Manuela Akot, Susan Brame, Emelia Haskey, Chris Jaksa, Sarah Jane Justice, Tracy McNally, Tracey O’Callaghan, Themba Shumba, Olenka Toroshenko and Jill Wherry. These ten talented poets will perform new work for the Final. Special Guest will be Adelaide icon, Daydream Fever.

Adelaide artist, Kultar Ahluwalia gave birth to Daydream Fever in late 2016. Since then, DDF has a hit the ground running with a capacity headline show at The Jade, sharing the stage with the likes of Adrian Eagle, Spit Syndicate, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Winston Surfshirt & Butterfingers. Daydream Fever is essentially a one man band, an evolution in sound, effortlessly blending a wide range of genres from hip hop to punk to spoken word to soul. A DFF live set takes the crowd on a rollercoaster ride, with double time raps, layered vocal loops and harmonies, spoken word poetry, belted soulful vocals and impromptu freestyle jams. Ahluwalia is at the helm of all these sounds handling the production, the instrumentation, the songwriting and the vocals. His debut EP “God Market” (2018) was supported heavily by street press and community radio across the country and hard copies sold out within weeks. Expect new singles in late 2020 and an EP in 2021. Ahluwalia is has been making music for over a decade as a producer for other artists, as a solo artist and is also a member of the group We Move Like Giants. He is passionate about supporting the next generation of artists and has provided mentoring and facilitated arts workshops on behalf of organisations such as Carclew, City of Onkaparinga, City of Marion and Spoken Word SA.
