Soulful Home with City Library Poet in Residence Tikari Rigney

We are excited to announce the first Adelaide City Library Poet In Residence for 2024. Tikari Rigney is a non-binary Kaurna, Narungga and Ngarrindjeri visual artist, curator and poet. Working in a range of mediums from performance, illustration sculpture to writing. Their practice references their queer bodily experience, Aboriginality and the complexities of human connection.

“This residency is in response to environment, displacement, the feeling of home or lack thereof in your own body, with people around you, places and spaces. In response to what is going on in the world and in my own little world. The exhale of safety and warmth that comes from a place or person that creates an idea of ‘home’ is like no other. Exploring the ‘home’ that the city library will become for me over the month of May and its potential to feel like home for so many.”
