What a night that turned out to be! SA Heat 4 of the 2026 Australian Poetry Slam at Jive attracted 16 poets and a totally engaged audience who witnessed a fantastic sequence of performances; close scoring; the highly skilled Holder of The Hat, SWSA volunteer Nadia Patterson; a remarkable sacrificial poem by SWSA’s own Clarissa Fischer; a fabulous set from special guest performer, Thermodynamics; and to finish off the night, a slam-off for second place!
In the end, winner of Heat 4 was Chelsea Avard, and after the slam-off, runner-up was Maha. Tough luck for Megan Ellis who ws runner-up in the slam-off after tying for 2nd place on the initial scoring.
Congratulations to Chelsea and Maha who will be off the the SA State Final at Goodwood Theatre and Studios on 26th September 2026.
The final SA heat for 2026 will be at Woodcroft Library on Friday 4th September 2026.
