SA Heats for the 2025 Australian Poetry Slam

Get ready for the South Australian heats for the 2025 Australian Poetry Slam!

Two poets chosen by the audience at each of our five South Australian heats will head to the SA Final at Goodwood Theatre in September. Our SA Final winner and runner-up will be off to the Nationals at the Sydney Opera House!

Who will become our next Australian Poetry Slam Champion as audiences vote in events around the country? The prize? They tour Australasia sharing their creative thoughts and inspiring people everywhere to speak their own poetry.

Poets: share an original poem for two minutes on the mic.
Audience: listen, cheer, vote with scorecards in this national celebration of spoken word.

There is a maximum of 20 poets per heat, so make sure to get there on time!
Poems must be two minutes or under, no props, no costumes, just you and the power of your words.

Tickets are $15 at the door or via trybooking.

For all heats, doors open for poet sign-in at 6:30pm ready for a 7:00pm start
