Summer Slam Heat 1 – Thursday 12th January at Bibilotheca.

Speak, scream, howl, whisper, rap or sing your original poem at the 2017 South Australian Summer Slam. You’ve got two minutes, no props, no music, just you and your words. It’s interactive, expressive and fun. There’s prizes to be won, thoughts to be shared, chocolates to be eaten. Raise your voice and be heard!

These events will follow National Slam rules (see link below) – one poem, two minutes maximum, no props, no musical instruments, no costumes etc.

First two from each heat into the final at Jive on Friday 10th February 2017.

Thursday, 17th November, 2016, 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Local performer Sam Ghamrawi will present both his own material and that of our tribute poet Tupac Shakur.

FREE ENTRY.

A selection of poetic works from Tupac and Sam will be for sale.

There is an open mic, where you can read a poem by Tupac Shakur and one of your own that reflects his influence on you.

Alison Bennett wins the SA Poetry Slam 2016, at the Goodwood Institute, SA.

From here Alison goes to compete at the national final for the 2016 Australian Poetry Slam in the Sydney Opera House.
