SA Slam Heat 1 goes off!!

A superb start to the 2018 Slam season at the State Library of South Australia with a near capacity crowd and 24 poets registering. Sadly that meant 4 missed out. With Alison Bennett – Performance Poet as guest and inspiration, 20 poets shared their words and gave us their all! Congratulations to Andrew Drake and Sarah Jane Justice who have booked their spots in the State Final. Thanks to our official photographer Lucinda Corin for the happy snaps.

Well that’s it for the 2017 SA Poetry Slam! Congrats to winner Andrew Drake and runner-up Chiara Gabrielli. They are both off to Sydney Opera House to compete in the National Poetry Slam. Heat 5 of the SA Slam was a fitting way to finish the heats: hot poets, great crowd, fantastic venue.
