The Be Natural Poetry Slam, held at Dymocks Books as part of the 2024 Nature Festival, brought out a packed house with a full roster of poets and an enthusiastic appreciative audience. The poetry was uniformly excellent and we were delighted to see a bunch of first-timer performers present their work in style. Tracy “Coogs” McNally gave us a fabulous guest performance and Matthew Pankhurst, in his first role as MC, steered the event with humour and a fine sacrificial poem.
The competition was close with only small margins separating most of the scores. So big congratulations to winner, Sanjana Raja, and runner-up, Pam Makin, each of whom received book prizes.
