Heat 1 of the SA leg of the Australian Poetry Slam took off big-time at the State Library of SA, where we had a room full of poetry fans and 12 competing slammers. After a fierce round of fiery words and cheers from the audience, we named our first two SA State Finalists for 2023.
Congratulations to Heat One Winner Matthew Pankhurst and Heat One Runner-Up Alex Vansilalom! We’ll see you on the 30th of September at Goodwood Institute Theatre for the final.
Thank you also to our feature poet Shaine Melrose who gave us an amazing set.
