Who will become our next Australian Poetry Slam Champion as audiences vote in events around the country? The prize? They tour Australasia sharing their creative thoughts and inspiring people everywhere to speak their own poetry.
Poets: share an original poem for two minutes on the mic.
Audience: listen, cheer, vote with scorecards in this national celebration of spoken word.
There is a maximum of 20 poets per heat, so make sure to get there on time: sign-up begins at 6:30pm and closes at 7:00pm. Poems must be two minutes or under, no props, no costumes, just you and the power of your words. Click here for the full rules.

Emelia Haskey is the SA 2019 State Slam Champion and a former poet in residence of Adelaide City Library. She is currently a candidate for ordination as a Minister in the Word in the Uniting Church. When’s she’s not writing, preaching, or using her ex boyfriends for poetry fodder, you can find her with her head in a book (or three).
