Who will become our next Australian Poetry Slam Champion as audiences vote in events around the country? The prize? They tour Australasia sharing their creative thoughts and inspiring people everywhere to speak their own poetry.
Poets: share an original poem for two minutes on the mic.
Audience: listen, cheer, vote with scorecards in this national celebration of spoken word.
There is a maximum of 20 poets per heat, so make sure to get there on time! Poems must be two minutes or under, no props, no costumes, just you and the power of your words. Click here for the full rules.

Kathryn Reese is a poet living on Peramangk land in Adelaide, South Australia. She works in medical science and enjoys road trips, hiking and chasing frogs to record their calls for science. Her work has been nominated for Best of the Net and Pushcart prizes as well as winning the 2024 Heroines Writing Prize. Her poems can be found in The Engine Idling, Epistemic Lit, Kelp Journal and Red Room Poetry.
