Audience at SLSA
The SA Heats of the 2024 Australian Poetry Slam began in top form with Heat 1 at the State Library of South Australia. With 17 competitors, the large audience was treated to a fabulous and diverse display of quality spoken word poetry. The final scores were very close, with several poets vying for second place separated by only fractions of a point. Indeed two could not be separated and we had our first slam-off of the competition! Congratulations to Heat 1 Winner, Arantza Garcia, and, after the slam-off, runner-up, Ben Adams. Cheers also for slam-off runner-up Anna-Mei Szetu.
Arantza and Ben are now off to the SA State Final at Goodwood Theatre on 21st September 2024.
