THE RUMBLE SA

Huge news for the young poets and spoken word artists of South Australia!

The Rumble SA is a youth poetry slam initiative from Spoken Word SA aiming to mentor, expand and strengthen the art of spoken word performance and slam poetry amongst younger artists (26 and under) in South Australia. And the actual slams are just one part of the deal!

It is most importantly about a dedicated series of workshops aimed at sharpening the skills of both developing and brand new young artists. A diverse skill set is needed to be an accomplished spoken word performer. Developing such a skill set in young performers is the primary aim of The Rumble SA program.

Spoken Word SA will specifically target aspiring young performance poets with a sequence of workshops led by experienced spoken word artists. Under the mentors’ guidance participants will develop skills in writing, editing and performing their work and be encouraged to create new work that can be developed, critiqued and rehearsed in the workshop environment. The Rumble SA will then offer participants and the wider arts community as a whole an opportunity to showcase their work at a series of poetry slam performance events.

Venues, dates and times will all be announced very soon. Keep in touch for more on this massive new project.
